EMDR Trauma Therapy and Counselling with Kira Bradbeer
Alongside my work supporting people affected by gambling addiction, I also offer counselling and therapy for people who do not have gambling difficulties.
A key part of my work is EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing), a trauma-focused therapy that can help to process difficult past experiences and reduce their impact on everyday life.
People come to me for different reasons. Some are specifically looking for EMDR trauma therapy. Others are seeking counselling to help with anxiety, emotional overwhelm, relationship difficulties, or a sense of feeling stuck. We work together to understand what you’re experiencing and decide what type of therapy, or combination of approaches, feels most helpful for you.
If you’re considering therapy, you don’t need to have concerns with gambling for us to work together. You’re very welcome to get in touch.
What EMDR Therapy and Counselling Can Help With…
EMDR therapy and counselling can support a wide range of difficulties, including:
Difficult experiences in childhood, such as feeling unsafe, neglected, or troubles in the family home.
Emotional, physical, or sexual abuse.
Accidents, injuries, or medical experiences that were frightening or upsetting.
Loss of a loved one or sudden bereavement.
Relationship difficulties, betrayal, or challenges with trust and closeness.
Bullying or stressful experiences at work or school.
Anxiety, low mood, or emotional distress related to past or current experiences.
Feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or unsure why life feels difficult.
Counselling can help make sense of these experiences and help you to move forwards. Whilst EMDR therapy can be especially helpful when the past is affecting you emotionally in the here and now, and is keeping you stuck in feelings of anxiety and low mood.
What Is EMDR Therapy?
EMDR therapy is a well-established, evidence-based approach to working with trauma. It helps the brain reprocess distressing or overwhelming experiences so that memories which once felt intrusive or emotionally intense can feel more manageable and less triggering.
EMDR is different from some other forms of therapy because you don’t need to repeatedly talk through painful events in detail. It offers a structured, contained way of working with difficult memories.
How Therapy with Kira Works…
When we first meet, my focus is on getting to know you and creating a safe, supportive space. Together, we’ll explore your experiences and what you hope to get from therapy, so we can decide on an approach that feels right for you.
If EMDR feels like it may be helpful, we can move into trauma reprocessing work. We may also take an integrative approach, combining talking therapy, reflection, and other techniques alongside or instead of EMDR, depending on what feels most fitting for you. You remain in control throughout, and my approach to therapy can be adjusted as needed to support you at every stage.
I offer both short- and long-term online therapy, depending on your needs.
The number of sessions varies depending on what you’re working through, your goals, and your personal pace. We review this together as therapy progresses.
Therapy sessions are 60-minutes in length, and my fee is £100 per session.
All sessions are offered online, making therapy accessible and convenient.
If you’d like to explore counselling or EMDR therapy, or if you’re unsure which approach might be right for you, please get in touch to arrange a free 20-minute consultation.
My priority is to really get to know you – not just your struggles, but your hopes, strengths and what matters to you – so we can shape therapy in a way that truly fits.
