Online Gambling Recovery Therapy with Kira Bradbeer
What matters to me the most as a Therapist is that I meet you wherever you are, without any judgement, and we work together to empower you to understand yourself, your gambling and build a life in recovery that’s personalised to you.
I understand for many people, seeking therapy for gambling addiction can feel daunting. It’s common to carry deep feelings of shame, guilt and fear of being judged about the impact gambling has had on loved ones, and facing those reminders can be painful. The worry of being judged or having to tell your story all over again can make reaching out for help even more difficult. On top of that, nagging doubts often creep in about whether you’ll succeed in sustaining a gambling free life, or if therapy will really make a difference.
From our first session, I aim to put you at ease and work at your pace. Together, we’ll build an understanding of where you are in your recovery right now and the struggles you’re facing. We’ll explore where you want to be in the future and what emotional difficulties are holding you back. We’ll then formulate a therapy plan that’s individual to your wishes and needs. My hope is you’ll feel supported, understood and relieved knowing you’re not on this journey of recovery alone.
How Therapy with Kira Works…
If you would like to know more about whether online gambling recovery therapy is right for you, please either complete the form below, or give me a call to organise a free 20-minute telephone consultation.
During the consultation, we can briefly discuss what you’re finding difficult and what you’re looking for from therapy. If all then feels good, we can organise our first session.
All sessions take place online and the frequency of sessions are individual to your needs. Although, many people find weekly sessions are helpful at the beginning of recovery and are recommended when undertaking any trauma therapy memory work.
I offer both short- and long-term online gambling therapy, depending on your needs.
Therapy sessions are 60-minutes in length, and my fee is £100 per session.
Gambling therapy can help you move from simply getting by, to living a life after gambling where you feel lighter, more in control, and free to live the life you truly want.
Kira’s Approach
My distinctive way of working brings together different psychological therapy approaches, as well as the learning I have developed from the many years of first-hand experience of delivering gambling therapy to people at different stages of recovery.
-

I work with each client as an individual and aim to understand their past and current struggles, as well as their hopes for future recovery.
-

I tailor therapy to the individual, drawing on approaches like person-centred counselling, CBT, emotion-focused work, mindfulness and EMDR – always with the specific needs of each client in mind.
-

I’m warm and compassionate, as well as respectfully honest and more directive when this feels more helpful to an individual and their recovery.
-

For those who are struggling with trauma or difficult past experiences, I offer Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), an evidence-based trauma therapy targeting and resolving memories. For those in recovery from gambling, this often means the number of gambling triggers significantly reduce, and this can make life in recovery feel so much easier.
My priority is to really get to know you – not just your struggles, but your hopes, strengths and what matters to you – so we can shape therapy in a way that truly fits.
